Leaving my comfort zone....

I've very excited.  I'm also a little nervous.  In 4 days I am leaving my comfort zone for a week.

I'm a homebody.
I could stay home for a week straight if my kids wouldn't get stir crazy.
When I do leave I love really nice hotels.  Well, let me rephrase...I demand nice hotels.  I am a hotel snob.  I admit it!

And, teenagers REALLY make me nervous.  I don't know that I was a very good teenager when I was a teenager.  I was always considered the "mama bear" or even the "buzz kill" of the group.

So....in 4 days I am heading out to serve.  I was called and I am answering.
WAY out of my comfort zone!

Please pray for me as I leave my comfort zone and join a group of TEENAGERS on a mission trip to Haiti.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for me!

Bagel lover

5th Grade Graduation

More birthday pics

His cake was 100% his doing.  He asked me for a green and black cake that we could stick
"his guys" on.  He was so proud of it.  (FYI....I did wash the guys first.)

5 years with my little man

Little Man is 5 Years old today!
I was thinking back to his birth this morning.  I really thought he was going to be another girl.  When they said, "It's a BOY"  I was stunned.  I don't think it was until he was about a month old that  I really realized that I had a SON.....who would someday be a MAN!

I think I knew early on that I was unprepared.

If you are a follower of my blog you already know that I LOVE Little Man with all my heart....but he TOTALLY wears me out.

Before having my boy I was not used to:

A child looking for a mess.....

I was not used to a child longing for extreme adventure:

Which has led to injury after injury...

I was not used to saying NO over...and over...and over...AND OVER!

He is surrounded by girls.

I can tell you one thing...all of these girls do not soften him a bit!

I write this....b/c I know these days will be gone in a blink.  I will faintly remember the stories...good and bad.  I need documentation.  There may be a day when he comes to me and tells me he is having a hard time with his little boy.  And I will reply....YES, I GET IT!

My little boy is a complete wild man and I love him SOOOO MUCH!

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Getting away with my favorite guy!

3 Nights away in the "City That Never Sleeps".
It was my first time.
I LOVED NEW YORK!

Everything....

The food...the shops...Broadway...the architecture...the history...
LOVED IT!

Here is a small sample of what is on our camera.
I will drop a few comments here and there  but most pictures speak for themselves.

We were able to spend a few hours with Aunt Shirley.
Such a treat!
She gave Hubby a lesson on how to be an aggressive driver without using aggressive language :)

The New World Trade Center Tower

The 9/11 Memorial

We loved using the subway!

Little Italy

Rest Stop....our bodies were pooped out after a full day of walking.
We found this sweet little restraunt to enjoy a drink.

Central Park

Just so many things to see!

We went to two Broadway plays.  This is where I didn't do a very good job planning.  One I decided on weeks ago.  It was good.  One was a last second discounted performance that we decided to jump in on....we should have done something else....but it makes for a good story.
But still...the theater district....so cool!

But there is one thing I planned beautifully...
FOOD
here is just a peak of a few of the things we ate...
(And I remembered to get pictures of)

I was one HAPPY GIRL!
